Funding Options & Rebates

We make exercise physiology accessible with multiple funding options:

  • Medicare: up to 5 subsidised sessions per year with a GP referral and Chronic Condition Management Plan. $88 per 45-minute session, with a Medicare rebate of about $63, so your out-of-pocket cost is about $25.
  • DVA (Department of Veterans' Affairs): sessions for eligible veterans with a GP referral. Call us to confirm what your DVA card covers.
  • NDIS: exercise physiology services for participants with relevant goals in their plan.
  • Workers compensation: rehabilitation for workplace injuries, subject to claim approval.
  • Motor vehicle accident (CTP): treatment for injuries from car accidents, subject to claim approval.
  • Private health insurance: some private health funds rebate exercise physiology. Check with your fund.
  • Support at Home: exercise physiology for older Australians receiving aged care services.
  • Private: self-funded sessions. Initial assessment package: $166 for two 45-minute appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see an Exercise Physiologist? No referral is required for private appointments. However, if you want to access Medicare rebates, DVA funding, or Workers Compensation, you will need a referral from your GP or treating doctor. We can guide you through this process.
What should I bring to my first appointment? Please bring your referral (if applicable), Medicare/DVA/health insurance cards, any relevant medical reports or imaging, a list of current medications, and comfortable clothing suitable for exercise.
How many sessions will I need? This varies depending on your condition and goals. Most clients see significant improvement within 6-12 sessions. Your Exercise Physiologist will discuss a recommended treatment plan during your initial assessment.
What's the difference between an Exercise Physiologist and a Personal Trainer? Exercise Physiologists hold a 4-year university degree and are qualified to work with people who have chronic conditions, injuries, or disabilities. We are accredited allied health professionals, which means you can claim rebates through Medicare, DVA, NDIS, and private health insurance. Personal trainers focus on general fitness for healthy populations.
Can I use my gym membership as part of my program? Yes! REPS Movement has a 24-hour gym on-site at our Willagee clinic. Many clients combine supervised sessions with independent gym access for ongoing fitness maintenance.
